Wine tasting in Jerome, AZ

This weekend the girlfriend and I went wine tasting in Jerome. We’ve been to Jerome before but didn’t notice how many wineries are packed into that small area.

We spent most of the day up there and did wine tastings at two different wineries. The first one was at the Jerome Winery which has a great patio and pretty good wines. Their winery is located in Winslow and not in Jerome but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. With the tasting you also get animal crackers and chocolate chips to cleanse your palette. Who doesn’t love animal crackers and chocolate?

The second winery we went to was caduceus which just opened in July and has a really cool tasting room. The room is very open with a great bar and wine racks behind you. This winery has a little bit higher quality wines which was very apparent after the first sip from my flight.

While I was in Caduceus though the guy working there gave me a new magazine called “Arizona Vines & Wines” which features all of the vineyards in Arizona. In the magazine they highlight over 27 local vineyards and wineries. I thought Napa was where it was at but Arizona has a good thing going for the wine scene as well.

DUDE! Did you see Maynard at Caduceus? I’ve been wanting to go up to that winery for the off chance of meeting him.

I didn’t, the owner mentioned how he owned it though which is pretty sweet.

I’ve been to Andretti’s winery too in Napa, random people own/run wineries.
