It’s good livin’ in the valley, no not Silicon valley

While some people feel the need to move out to California to experience the tech life and surround themselves with nerds and VC’s it’s good to know there’s a lot going on here in Phoenix.

More specifically Geek Week is coming up in November which is a week and a half long of events.  The calendar is still somewhat tentative but there are a few events that are solidified.

Here’s a brief overview of the events during Geek Week Arizona November 6-19, 2009:

• Ignite Phoenix #5 – Tuesday, November 3rd from 6pm to 9pm
• TEDxPhoenix – Friday, November 6th, 2009 from 6pm to 9pm
• Startup Weekend – Saturday, November 7th through 9th
• Desert Code Camp – Saturday, November 7th all day
• Developer Ignite #2 – Wednesday, November 11th from 6pm to 9pm
• WordCamp Phoenix – Friday, November 13th 8am to 5pm
• PodCampAZ – Saturday, November 14th and 15th

There are also other regular occuring events and meetings during that week such as TechLunchSouth, Creative Connect, Startup Drinks, AZIMA, Hacknight @ Gangplank, OpenCoffee Club, AZEC, Social Media Club, TempeNerds, and Geek-n-Eat – East Valley.
